義 justice and mercy 義
Do you believe that your sense of justice is greater than that of mercy?????????????
Personally, I feel that the need for justice out shadows that of mercy.
If you have a proper system set up then there is no need for emotional
verdicts/situations that could lead to mercy. BUT at the same time, how
far can justice go before you are moving from rehabilitation to cruel
punishment (and mercy).
Your thoughts?
Does it even matter? Maybe not, but values in society are a pretty
accurate prediction of the direction it will head in the future.
Mercy is tolerance to unrighteousness.
Judgement is decision on what's right or wrong.
I always give people mercy, because they do nothing wrong to me, but I
can never judge a person right or wrong for ever, because s/he is
changing until death.
law is combination of three basic principles: justice, legislation and
morality. This combination means that as society changes it has an
impact on the law. Like in alot of European Countries there is a legal
code, something set down which tells you what’s right or wrong. Unless
the society is completely static how is this feasible? I guess in
conclusion you can’t place the value of justice and mercy above each
other, they are intertwined in the same system.
Or do u think nowadays justice depends very much on the character of the judge and the jury????????????
Cant wait to read your opinion.............
